The story of the Gepard machines development
The Gepard-2 separating screen was developed and patented in the Ukraine (see photo) and manufactured by Loginov and Partners Mining Company (LPMC), Kiev, Ukraine, one of the partners involved in the PARM-2 Consortium.
The screen was efficiently used at the open pit mine "Karansky", Donetsky region of Ukraine (seen in the video operating in the mode of parametric resonance).
However, an issues that would arise was that the seeding net usually got broken (see photo on the right) earlier than predicted.
Therefore, the existing model was modified by replacing the perforated screen with a special strong net (see the video of this version of the machine in action).
Still, the new type of net does not withstand long-term operational regime either and gets worn (see photo).
One of the goals of the PARM-2 project was to improve the construction of the machine and to suggest an optimal choice of mechanical and strength properties of possible net or perforated screens parts. This aspect that was taken into account while developing the new separating screen Gepard-3 (see photos).
The prototype of the new machine has been created and is currently undergoing tests (see the video of Gepard-3 machine in action).
